“Music exists for the purpose of growing an admirable heart…”
– Shinichi Suzuki
Learning to play a musical instrument is an inspirational and thought provoking journey. With competent instruction and intelligent, consistent practice, each student will find themselves progressing steadily in their musicianship and technical abilities.
The teachers with whom I have had the privilege to work effectively demonstrated the ideas they wanted me to take home and master. They asked questions that were designed to get me to think for myself; this is my aim with my students. In the cello lessons I teach, I focus on helping students make beautiful sound by using proper technique. By building a solid technical foundation and discerning ears for sound and music, students set themselves up for success when tackling new musical challenges.
I teach advanced, intermediate, and beginner cellists of all ages. Please contact me if you are interested in cello lessons.
